Sportstar identified Aristarkhov as representing Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN). News On AIR called him Russia's Anton Aristarkhov and put his gold score at 561, with Joldea on bronze. The two desks agree on the order and the headline scores.
Why this gold is not an Olympic quota
Sportstar was explicit: men's 50m pistol is not part of the Olympics. Quota places at these championships are available in each of the 12 individual Olympic events, 36 in all. India has 35 shooters entered in those Olympic events, Sportstar said.
So Tuesday's pistol medals count on the World Championships table. They do not by themselves deliver a Los Angeles 2028 quota in this discipline, because the discipline is not on that programme.
